"Bolts: Placing, Removing, and Ethics" with Washington Anchor Replacement Clinic (WARP) (Saturday, 9am-2ish... or longer if y'all are really into it)
Everyone has an opinion about bolts; We love them, we love to hate them, and we often trust them implicitly. A highly contested topic since the beginnings of modern climbing, bolted hardware has become a normal facet of almost every crag across the country. Thousands of hangers are clipped every day, yet few understand the bolts they are trusting their lives with.
Join WARP / ASCA volunteer Tyler on a dive into the world of bolting where you see just how the sausage is made. Learn how to evaluate what you are climbing on, the decisions developers are making, what tools accomplish the job, and get a glimpse into the modern bolt replacement movement.
Level: Best suited for Intermediate to Advanced Climbers
Bring: Students are asked to bring a notebook / note taking tools
10 slots available
Cost: $15-45 sliding scale. 100% of proceeds are donation to WARP & Index rebolting. Please consider donating more if you are in a position to do so! Good bolts save lives!
