Chicago Game Lab, 60618
Description
Join us March 1st for our next installment of our speaker series with Spit it Out! Audio :)
About the talk:
Do you regularly find yourself approaching the finish line for your game without music or audio? Justin Cavazos & Max Volpert from Spit It Out! Audio are back with Indie City Games for a talk on the game audio pipeline, discussing everything from UI to level music. By integrating audio programming, sound design, and music composition earlier in the development process, you can enhance interactivity, increase player engagement, and inspire creative decisions in your other designs!
About our speakers:
Spit It Out! Audio is an eclectic and experienced team of musicians, stage performers, and general sound enthusiasts dedicated to crafting unforgettable audio for film, TV, video games, and podcasts. The Chicago-based team has had work recently featured in published browser and VR games, podcasts, and commercial projects. Justin Cavazos is a Latino composer, producer, sound designer, and songwriter based in Chicago. His background as a musician and stage performer often blurs the lines between sound design and music composition, bringing an imaginative flair to his productions. Justin’s compositions have been featured on VirZoom’s Fly, Showa Labs’ Croginal Nine, and Northwestern University’s theatrical productions of The Tempest and The Wong Kids in The Secret of the Space Chupacabra, Go!
Max Volpert is a sound designer, writer, and artist based in Chicago and originally from Central Jersey. With a passion for the spectacular and a penchant for the dramatic, Max is constantly in pursuit of projects that will allow her to dive deep into fictional worlds, and work creatively to curate meticulous and exciting designs. She is also the writer, sound designer, composer, and creator of Epilogues, a visual novel series available on itch.io.
