Build on Bedrock | Café Conversation No. 7

We had such a wonderful crowd and rich conversation last Thursday by presencing Wendy McCaig's latest posts that the group ambled in the direction of doing it again. So that's what we'll do! Everyone is welcome, whether you joined in last week or not, or ever for that matter.

Last week, Wendy posted the fourth in her Power Shift Revisited series:

Build on Bedrock

In this post Wendy recounts her journey into understanding the Interbeingness of Life... us included.

A few passages that stood out for me include:

"The shifts toward an institutional approach felt small, but little by little they eroded what made the community work."

"The foundation upon which I had built my work was crumbling."

"I was no longer following the sound of the genuine."

"What lies beneath the surface shapes what can grow above it. Communities are similar. Their health depends on the condition of the soil. For human communities, this is often defined as the culture. The health of a culture can erode gradually before we realize what we’ve lost."

“Society as a whole benefits enormously from the social ties forged by those who choose connective strategies."

Join us this Thursday, October 7, from 10:00 - 11:30 ET to bask in the wisdom Wendy's stories tell.

Wendy will be joining us!

If you choose to join in too, it is best if you are able to take a little time with this piece (the underlined title above is a link to the post) and take note of what strikes you. Perhaps something you once knew but forgot. Something confirmed. Perhaps an AHA! A turn of phrase. A beckoning or impulse. Bring these with you and we'll wander together in dialogue and weave something new.

If you aren't able to take the time to read or listen to Wendy's latest post, that's okay too. There will be enough life in the room to welcome you in.

We'd love for you to join us,

Peter Pula, Host
Indiewylder

P.S. The first three posts of her Power Shift Revisited series are:

These real life stories are rich, honest, and revealing of truths we can contemplate in our own efforts to inhabit a more beautiful way of life.

Your Commitments

Remember, each gathering is highly participatory. It's important to start together. So, if you choose to join is we ask that you arrive in time for the beginning of each session you sign up for. It is far better to leave early than arrive late.

These gatherings feature small and whole group dialogue. We ask that you come prepared to share what is alive for you and be open to learning from others.

Unless you already have by some other means or channel, we ask that when you are ready to do so that you make a financial gift in an amount of your choosing, no matter how small, to support the curation, convening, design, and hosting that make these events possible. This cultivates a sense of shared ownership, commitment, and reciprocity.

Dialogue guidance will be offered at the beginning of each session.

Consider reading, The Path of Relational Presencing for more information about the dialogue experience.

A Special Note About AI Companions
For these events we ask that your AI companions are charged with the responsibility of remaining outside to "keep the car running". We'd like for people inside to feel free to speak their minds and from their hearts without our having to ask for, and contend with questions of, consent. We'd like to simply Be More Human in these spaces.
