Equine Assisted Learning - private sessions

This is a private session of Equine Assisted Learning with no other participants outside of your group lasting 45 to 60 minutes with time to reflect following with your EAL Facilitator.  Ages 10+.

In the Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) experience, the horses become our teachers. EAL is simply a fun and interactive way to work in partnership with a horse to develop beneficial life skills like self confidence, leadership, communication,  healing and reflection.  Horses are mirrors to your own emotions  and provide honest and immediate feedback.    Our innovative program of Mishtadim (meaning horse in Ojibwe) incorporates reflecting on the Seven Grand Father teachings along with a standard EAL session / and activity.  All sessions are led by professionally certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitators who can tailor the session to your personal goals.  There is no riding or previous horse experience required. 

#1 - ‘Wisdom’ activity description: 
In this activity, participants learn how horses move, think, and look to a leader. They will apply this knowledge, along with experience and understanding, to make sound decisions. Working as a team, participants will build an obstacle course and lead a horse through it. After the first run, they will reflect on their experience, reevaluate the course, make improvements, and lead the horse through it again. 

#2 - ‘Love’ activity description:
Through a partnered reflection with a horse as a unique canvas, participants will compare their self-perceptions with peers' perspectives. Participants will explore self-love, appreciation for others, and how different perspectives shape the way we see ourselves and those around us. 

#3 - ‘Respect’ activity description: 
In this activity, participants will explore the importance of treating themselves, others, and all of creation with dignity and respect. Through a horse-leading activity that compares force with encouragement, they will discover that positive influence and support are often more effective than control.
