Join the Net Zero Breakfast at Labour Party Conference 2025

Labour has pledged that its target of 95% clean electricity by 2030 will not only be met, but will deliver for households and the economy: creating jobs, cutting bills and ensuring energy security. It is one of the most ambitious energy goals anywhere in the world, and it has already spurred progress – from grid reform and a new planning bill to major investment in clean energy projects.

But significant hurdles remain: grid bottlenecks, planning delays and the danger that rapid progress in electricity could divert attention from harder-to-decarbonise sectors like home heating. Delivering on the promise will require not only faster build-out and greater investment in infrastructure, but also clear evidence that the benefits are reaching workers and consumers alike.

The Net Zero Breakfast will bring together leaders from politics, industry and trade unions to ask whether Britain can turn an ambitious clean power target into real-world delivery that overcomes bottlenecks and shares the benefits across households, workers and the economy.

Breakfast will be served.
