BAT‑WATCH: Build a Bat Box & Monitor Bat Habitats

Inishowen Development Partnership’s HARC Project is delighted to offer a unique, hands‑on BAT‑WATCH programme at Moville Men’s Shed, inviting participants to explore the fascinating world of local bat species while learning practical conservation skills.

Across a series of five sessions running from April to September, participants will be guided by an experienced bat expert as they build their own bat box, learn how to monitor bat activity, and take part in habitat observations carried out under an NPWS licence. This engaging project combines creativity, outdoor learning, and wildlife conservation—perfect for nature enthusiasts and anyone interested in supporting local biodiversity.

Food and refreshments are provided at each session, and participants are asked to commit to the full programme to get the most from the experience.

This programme is funded by the HARC (Healthy Active Rural Communities) project, a PEACEPLUS-supported initiative managed by the Special EU Programmes Body - SEUPB
