A Tracton Arts Festival event organised by Tracton Biodiversity Group: A walk in a surprise location, led by tree expert Ted Cook.
Sunday 2nd July, 11am - 1.30pm (returning to Tracton Arts & Community Centre where lunch options will be available)
Meeting point: Meet at the Tracton Arts & Community Centre, to carpool at 11am (as site parking restricted)
Admission: a suggested donation of €10/€5 will be collected on arrival, prior to event.
Suitable footwear and clothing recommended for weather and terrain.
Maximum 35 people. Children welcome but path into wood unsuitable for buggies.
A guided walk exploring the diverse insect & bird life of a local woodland. Hosted by butterfly enthusiast Rodney Daunt & tree expert Ted Cook. Ted Cook, who shares his knowledge, experience and passion for trees and ecology; a great friend and supporter of the Tracton Biodiversity group, will lead this nature walk. Themes of interdependence and interconnectedness; the relationship between the built and natural heritage; raising awareness and appreciation of our native biodiversity; an opportunity for reflection on the threat of global warming and the part of protection and regeneration of our habitats in the building of a sustainable community.
