ICRA Support Circles - facilitators, hosts and people who hold space for others.
Over the last year we have spoken to many people who are engaged in inner led change across emotional, relational and spiritual realms, and really see and appreciate the work that is happening on a community level.
We see people hosting events, workshops and gatherings, where effort and intention are put to service tending to our inner worlds and experiences and to share and witness our responses to the ever multiplying calamities and horrors ecologically and geo-politically. We see softness and care being created and protected within a hard world in an existential crisis. Many of you are creating spaces for others to come together to practice generative and healing responses to what is often unbearable suffering.
We would like to create a space to support those of you who are supporting others in this way, by bringing you together as facilitators and practitioners of inner work within the community, for a peer support session lightly facilitated by ICRA. These sessions will be focused on building connection and solidarity between practitioners, creating a sense of shared purpose despite geographical distance, and building shared inspiration, peer support, and witnessing of our challenges and joys as we try to stay with the trouble together.
People who convene and host spaces create invaluable holding and witnessing, and it takes energy. We hope to offer a supporting and nourishing space to resource you so you can continue to show up and offer this to your community without depleting your own resources.
Is this for me?
Not everyone identifies as a "facilitator", not everyone sees what they do as "holding space for others". We have a wide understanding of what inner work is - beyond traditional therapeutic or wellness spheres, we see people in community tending to their and others emotional, relational, and spiritual worlds in a variety of ways.
This could be for you if:
You host climate cafe listening circles or similar group circles where people share their emotions around climate impacts
You host or coordinate a community project event which brings people together for good and isn't focused on making a profit (eg a community meal or pot luck, a repair cafe, adventure playground, community food garden or veg scheme )
You facilitate workshops, circles, spaces, where people are brought together to share activities, experiences, perspectives, emotions in groups
You used to host or facilitate spaces and are trying to work out how to be of service in this moment
You coordinate a project or organisation which works on climate issues within communities and you feel the emotional weight of the work.
And if you don't fit into one of the boxes above but feel this is for you, please know that you are welcome and we'd love you to come along
