About this forum

This forum brings together leaders from business, research, and civil society who share one thing: a growing sense that the way they have been leading is not sufficient for the complexity they are now facing. The IDG Summit has built that ground over several years. This is where the conversation moves from inspiration to the harder work of application.

We are the first generation with the potential to see the full consequences of the models we inherited. The complexity is visible. The stakes are clear. And refining what already exists, however skilfully, will not be sufficient.

The leaders shaping tomorrow's organisations need more than new strategies. We need new ways of thinking, relating, and making decisions under conditions that none of our existing frameworks were built for. Inner development is not a retreat from the hard work of leadership. It is the work.

We have built two days of serious, peer-level conversation about what leading well actually demands right now. This is not a conference in the usual sense. There will be no keynotes designed to impress and no pitching of solutions. What this is: real space to think together, at depth, about what it means to lead well right now with the future in mind.

What we explore together

The themes below emerged from conversations with partners before the forum. They are starting points, not an agenda.

- How do we build organisations that can hold the tension between short-term pressure and long-term purpose?

- How do we support the kind of transformation that makes us more fit for the complexity we are facing?

- What would it take, across sectors, to become the change-makers this transformation actually needs?

- What does genuine resilience look like as a lived practice, when things are not going well?

- What stops us from acting on what we already know, and what would help us close that gap?

The format

This forum follows the arc of Joanna Macy's 'Work That Reconnects': opening with gratitude, moving honestly through the difficulty of our current moment, finding new perspective, and going forth with concrete intention. From IT to I to WE.

Over two days, there is space to hear from a diversity of voices, engage in meaningful dialogue, and together shape the conversations that most need to happen. There will be a mix of participant hosted sessions around cases and themes, plenary presentations and large group conversations.

Location: Djurönästet Conference Center, Stockholm

Djurönäset is one of Sweden's largest spa and conference hotels, set in the Stockholm Archipelago in Värmdö municipality roughly 45 minutes from the city centre. 

The hotel opened in 1979, purpose-built to create ideal conditions for learning and development in a natural archipelago setting. The original architectural concept, named "Fresh Air," was built on the principle that creativity, focus, and wellbeing flourish when we move and breathe in open surroundings.
