Leading at the Threshold

We are at a turning point. Something rare is taking shape.

What do we want to leave to the next generations? And are we willing to lead from what we already know, rather than from what is safe to say?

About this forum

We are the first generation that has the potential to see the full consequences of the models we inherited. The complexity is real. The stakes are visible. And optimising the current model, however skilfully, is not the same as transforming it.
“The way we are solving problems is the problem.” - Erik Fernholm

The leaders and organisations shaping tomorrow's world need more than new strategies — they need new ways of thinking, relating, and leading. Inner development is not a soft add-on. It is the core capability of this era.
We are not here because we have the answers. We are here because we are willing to hold the questions together, and at depth.

This is not a conference in the usual sense. No keynotes designed to impress. No pitching of solutions. What this is: real space to think together, at depth, about what it means to lead well right now with the future in mind.

Who is this for

We're bringing together leaders, researchers, and change agents that have practical experiences and who are serious about inner change for outer impact, who want to explore new ideas, new ways of working, and cross-organisational innovations. We share a conviction: that the inner shift and the systemic shift are not separate projects.

What we explore together

In conversation with our partners these are some of the themes that have emerged:

  • How do we build and sustain organisations that can hold the tension between short-term pressure and long-term purpose?
  • How do we support the kind of organisational transformation that makes us more fit for the complexity we are facing?
  • What would it take for us, across sectors, to become the kind of change-makers this transformation actually needs?
  • What does genuine resilience look like when things are not going well, not as a framework, but as a lived practice?

The format

Over two days, there is space to hear from a diversity of voices, engage in meaningful dialogue, and together shape the conversations that most need to happen. No pitching. No performance. Just a real conversation among peers who are committed to the same thing. There will be a mix of participant hosted sessions around cases and themes, plenary presentations and large group conversations.

Day 1
09:30 - Arriving together | Break | Plenary session with presentation and dialogue
12:00 - Lunch
13:00 - Participant hosted break-out sessions | Break | Participant hosted break-out sessions | Common activity
19:00 - Dinner

Day 2
08:30 - Plenary session with presentation and dialogue | Break | Large group dialogue around co-created themes
12:00 - Lunch
13:00 - Plenary session | Conclusion
16:30 - End

Location: Djurönästet Conference Center, Stockholm

What we hope to achieve

Conversations that simply wouldn't happen anywhere else.

  • Cross-organisational collaboration that keeps going after the forum
  • New ideas that we can actually apply
  • Deep connections with peers we truly resonate with
  • A sense of being genuinely nourished in our own energy

About the IDG Business Coalition

The Coalition supports organisations in developing the inner and relational capacities needed to lead in complexity, strengthen collaboration across sectors, and integrate inner development as a core capability for innovation, resilience and long-term value creation.
Through leadership labs, peer learning, and partner-driven forums, we develop the inner and relational capacities needed to lead well in a world that demands something new of us.
