Imagine dropping the mask, speaking from the heart, and being met with openness—truly heard, acknowledged, and learning to offer the same to others. At the Deep Listening Circle, this is what participants practice together.

This guided, 90-minute online gathering is a space to slow down, listen deeply—to yourself and to others—and speak from presence. Through meditation, small-group conversations, and intentional pauses, we create a safe, unhurried space to connect in a way most people rarely experience.

In the rush of daily life, where conversations often skim the surface and listening can feel like a performance, it’s rare to find a place where you can simply be—without the pressure to fix, prove, or perform.

Here, we practice a different kind of listening:

  • Listening with your whole self—mind, heart, and body

  • Listening that meets others with openness, without judgment

  • Listening that lets silence do its quiet work

Instead of speaking about our experiences, we speak from them. This simple yet profound shift creates a sense of safety and belonging that many describe as “dropping from the head into the heart.”

When you listen in this way, something happens:

  • Your presence deepens

  • Your compassion grows

  • The space between you and another person becomes alive with understanding

This is not therapy, and it’s not about fixing each other. It’s a mindfulness-based, relational practice—an opportunity to develop the core skills that make real connection possible: presence, attunement, and the ability to hold space for yourself and others.

This approach reflects the principles shared in Christine Samuel’s TEDx talk, How Deep Listening Can Change the World.

What to Expect in Each 90-Minute Session

  • Heart-centered meditation to ground and arrive

  • Gentle check-in to connect as a group

  • Breakout groups for sharing and listening in small circles

  • Closing reflections to integrate what’s emerged

Our Shared Agreements

  • Speak from lived experience, not performance

  • Listen without fixing or giving advice

  • Honor each person’s wisdom and wholeness

  • Allow silence and an unhurried pace

  • Engage your whole awareness—body, heart, and mind

Please note: To maintain safety and connection, participants are asked to keep their video on during the session.

WHAT PEOPLE WHO ATTENDED THE PRACTICE SAY

"In just one Zoom session, I gained a deeper understanding of what it means to listen, to hear, and to truly connect. I was struck by the wisdom each person holds when given space to be heard. We all have a voice and a story to share. This kind of connection goes beyond borders, cultures, and the identities we wear." - Anton

"It allows me to learn to create a "safe space" and "to listen from the heart." It touched my life by making me understand, in a concrete way, how to really hear and listen to others, how it feels to be heard and listened to in this deep way. It is a practice I keep in my heart now, use in my life, and hope to take it further into action." - Martine I.

"Touched my life in a profound way. Through deep listening, I have felt truly connected to another human being; a connection in which I have loved and been loved". - Corinne F.

"This group has broadened my insight of moving from head to heart space. I feel more in tune with myself and more confident to trust inner feelings." - Kathy G.
