What to Expect:

Engaging, Hands-On Activity
Guided by an experienced Data Engineer- Ruth Chanarin, from the Co-op, students will dive into an interactive activity designed for secondary school students that offers a dynamic introduction to exciting career paths within tech. Within the activity, students will discover the exciting, everyday challenges and problem-solving skills that data engineers tackle, as they will participate in storytelling with data.

Inspiring Role Model Talk
Following the activity, students will have the chance to hear from a role model in Tech. This role model will share their career journey, describe what it’s like to work in their role and offer insights into how students can start preparing for their future career paths.

Live Q&A Session
At the end, students can ask questions and get answers from the speakers, offering a unique opportunity to learn about their careers directly from someone in their specific field.

• The event is for all genders, students aged between 13-17, particularly those interested in STEM and about to make their GCSE selection.

• This interactive event will help reach Gatsby Benchmarks 2, 4, 5 & 8.

• You can stream the event into your classroom via Zoom, the link will be sent to you via email once you have booked, please note you will be provided with a passcode in your confirmation email that you will need to use to access the event.

We ask for this number so that we can manage the event well and know how many people we expect to be hosting.
