Puchta Foundational Exercises: Applied Exercise Program
This webinar introduces its participants to Puchta Foundational Exercises (PFE), an exercise program and highly effective extension of the osteopathic treatment. Developed throughout the last twenty years of my practice, PFE is meant to be performed in-between treatments and allows the patient to play an active role in their recovery. The program is based on osteopathic laws and principles and effectively applies osteopathic principles to the excise system, which is both strikingly simple and profound.
This Webinar is a continuation of Puchta Foundational Exercises: What happens after the treatment? which was presented as a webinar at the ICO in 2024. The webinar covered the theory behind PFE and can be made available to participants who wish to familiarize themselves with the theory behind PFE.
The applied exercise program on December 9th, 2026 is largely practical and exercises will be performed sitting, standing and lying down (please be sure to have a chair, yoga mat or carpet and a bathroom towel, which will be used as a prop. You might also want to put a cushion under your head when lying down). Participants will learn the exercises that constitute the foundations of PFE. Particular attention will be paid to the clinical reasons for each exercise including the possibility of progression, flagging both counterindications and necessities. I will also break down the cuing of the exercises, which emphasize sensory awareness and inclusion. Finally, the webinar will consist in a pre- and post- evaluation to assess postural changes and proprioceptive awareness.
