Room 101, Kilburn Campus, ICMP, NW6 7XG
Description
Please feel invited to an event where ICMP tutors talk about their neurodiversity and disability statements. On Thursday the 23rd of November 18:00 in room 101. There will also be a support adviser on hand to discuss study-related support options, including ICMP support arrangements and DSA (Disabled Students Allowance).
Luke Toms, an ICMP Teaching Fellow was statemented as disabled with neurodiverse characteristics from an early age. Primarily Luke’s statement pertains to difficulties within literacy and numeracy processing, so much so Luke’s primary school wanted him to attend a school for specialist provisional needs.
Josh Hills, an ICMP Programme Leader, was identified from a young age as an individual exhibiting neurodiverse characteristics, with a notable emphasis on dyslexia. His education journey primarily underscores the hurdles he confronts in the cognitive domains of literacy and numeracy processing, with these challenges being strongly associated with the intricate manifestations of dyslexia.
The event is designed to show students the diversity of our teaching faculty and further the normalising of neurodiversity within our institution.
