👤 About Miranda Sawyer

Miranda Sawyer is an award-winning English journalist, broadcaster, and author. She began her career at Smash Hitsand became the youngest winner of the Periodical Publishers Association’s Magazine Writer of the Year award for her work at Select. Her writing has appeared in GQ, Vogue, The Guardian, and The Observer, where she is a regular radio critic.

A familiar voice and face on BBC Radio 4, The Culture Show, and Newsnight Review, Sawyer has been a key figure in British arts journalism for decades. She served on the judging panels for the Turner Prize and Liverpool’s Capital of Culture bid, and sits on the boards of Tate Members, South London Gallery, and Sound Women.

Her latest book, Uncommon People, is a deeply personal and revealing look at Britpop’s rise and cultural impact, told through the songs that defined the era.
