Summer College Experience 2026 (Indigenous Students)

Summer College is a unique transition program designed to help Indigenous students build confidence, connect with community, and earn a credit before the fall semester begins.

Event Details

Dates: Starting July 6, 2026
Length: 6 weeks
Location: London Campus + Online (Hybrid)

Program Format

• Week 1: In-person (London Campus)

• Weeks 2–6: Hybrid learning (online + scheduled supports)

In-person days: Monday to Wednesday
Residence available during in-person week (Sunday–Wednesday)

Course

WRIT-1091 Reason & Writing - Indigenous Themes (Writing Course)

This course introduces the core skills you need to succeed in college-level reading, writing, and critical thinking.

You will learn how to:

• Analyze and understand readings

• Write clear, persuasive responses

• Build strong arguments using evidence

• Strengthen grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills

• Explore contemporary Indigenous topics and perspectives

This is a credit-bearing course that will count toward your program.

Cultural Experience

Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a cultural camp experience during the program.

This may include:

• Land-based learning

• Cultural teachings

• Community connection

• Indigenous students confirmed to attend Fanshawe College in Fall 2026

• Students looking to feel more prepared and connected before September

• This is an accelerated, credit-bearing course

• Attendance during in-person weeks is required

• Full program participation is needed to receive credit
