Join us to explore how livestock can be integrated into existing woodlands and the range of benefits they can deliver.

David Carruth of Brodoclea Woodland Farm will share his experience of managing ‘woolly’ Mangalitsa pigs within a young woodland system. He’ll discuss how he integrated pigs for food production alongside wider objectives including timber, carbon sequestration and biodiversity enhancement.

We’ll start with an introduction at Dalry Community Centre before travelling to Brodoclea Woodland Farm, where we’ll see first-hand the benefits David has observed since introducing the pigs, as well as the challenges he’s met along the way.

We’ll also have speakers from Scottish Forestry joining us to discuss funding and first steps to woodland creation.
