People's Emergency Briefing
What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK?
In collaboration with Wildlife Trust BCN and Pickled: Preserving Humanity, the IF invites you to a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - a 50-minute documentary film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for:
🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🛡️ National security
☀️ Renewable energy
🏥 Health
🌿️ Nature
The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.
The film will be followed by a 45-minute Pickled workshop involving active reflection to help us find the agency and the courage to take meaningful environmental action. We will work together to create 'Recipes for Rebellion' against the forces that render us helpless.
The session will be introduced by Katie King-Hurst from Wildlife Trust BCN and facilitated by systems-thinking designer Anusha Iyer.
About the speakers:
Katie King-Hurst is Head of Communities and Education at the Wildlife Trust (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire).
Anusha Iyer is the founder of Pickled: Preserving Humanity, a community initiative aimed at turning privilege into power and helplessness into hope through collective action.
