What to expect: Healing-centered practice is not something we apply. It is something we inhabit. This workshop takes the healing-centered framework and turns it toward the provider, examining how language, position, and relational presence shape the work from the inside.



We will explore how systemic and cultural context shapes healing, why language is a clinical and political act, and what it means for the provider to be part of the relationship rather than outside it. We will also look honestly at secondary traumatic stress and what it takes to sustain this work over time.

Through reflection, discussion, and experiential activities, we will explore:
  • Analyze how systemic and cultural conditions shape trauma and healing.
  • Apply healing-centered language principles across clinical and non-clinical roles.
  • Examine the provider's role in co-regulation and relational presence.
  • Recognize secondary traumatic stress and identify practices that support provider sustainability.

We use a community-centered sliding scale (adapted from Worts & Cunning) to keep the training accessible while honoring the labor that goes into it. Vanya Garabedian, LCSW has over 20 years of experience in the mental and behavioral health field. She founded Intentional Path Counseling to create learning spaces that feel warm, inclusive, and genuinely engaging.
