What to expect: Trauma shapes how people move through the world, how they respond to care, and what they need to heal. This workshop builds a foundation in trauma, the nervous system, and what healing-centered practice looks like when applied to the people we serve.
We will explore how trauma lives in the brain and body, how it shows up in behavior and relationship, and what it takes to create conditions where healing becomes possible. The focus is on practical understanding: how to recognize dysregulation, how to pace and respond without moving too fast, and how to hold what a person carries alongside what they are capable of.
Through reflection, discussion, and experiential activities, we will explore:
- Describe trauma types and their effects on the brain, body, and nervous system.
- Distinguish trauma-informed from healing-centered approaches.
- Identify signs of trauma activation and apply grounding and pacing tools.
- Recognize how physical and relational space support healing-centered care.
6 CEUs included.
Registration: $125.00 - $175.00 + tax
We use a community-centered sliding scale (adapted from Worts & Cunning ) to keep the training accessible while honoring the labor that goes into it. The scale relies on honesty, respect, and accountability. Please choose the rate that reflects your financial access. Paying more when you are able helps subsidize participation for others, keeps spots open for those with fewer resources, and supports the sustainability of these workshops
