Eurorack Synthesis with VCV Rack 2
Sat Mar 1, 2025 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
InterAccess, 950 Dupont Street, Toronto, ON, M6H 1Z2
Description
This hands-on workshop introduces electronic sound creation using VCV Rack 2, a Eurorack simulator for Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Learn how to navigate VCV rack, what a patch is, the VCV workflow, and patch examples. Dive into generative patching, ambient to techno, basic modules to complex, building soundscapes, and working with samples/field recordings — input/output to OBS/Ableton/Hardware synths.
Follow step-by-step patch walk-throughs and then build a simple patch from scratch to one you can evolve at home! This is an open discussion workshop where participants are free to ask questions and explore sound synthesis.
VCV Rack is a free software that lets you create and customize realistic Eurorack systems and perform with them. Whether you are an experienced sound creator or looking to dive into the world of Eurorack, VCV Rack 2 offers virtually limitless audio creation tools and sonic experimentation.
This is an introductory course; no prior experience is necessary. Previous experience working with music or sound creation tools is optional.
