Digital Sticker Book: Media Arts Prize 2024 Finalist Artist Talk
Wed Feb 5, 2025 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
InterAccess, 950 Dupont Street, Toronto, ON, M6H 1Z2
Description
The Digital Sticker Book is a process of creating and compiling, involving the remix of found images into digital stickers to be included in an online “sticker book” style repository. The workshop will address digital imaging from the perspective of collection and remix, considering how we interpolate images into our lives differently (and similarly) in digital and physical spaces. There will be a short artist demo exploring some possibilities of how to remix found imagery into new unique stickers, combining physical and digital processes pushing beyond typical notions of mood board style collage. Workshop participants will be invited to join in the process of collection and remix, creating their own stickers to be submitted to the sticker book.
About the Artist
Nara Wrigglesworth is a programmer, artist, and student living in Tkaronto. Nara’s artistic practice focuses on moving image works as a medium to explore methods of orientation in a post-digital setting, offering inquiry into how contemporary perspectives of temporality might be transformed by digital means. Across all her work there is a strong grounding in DIY methods of generation and distribution, valuing the potential of artistic methods of inquiry to destabilize neocolonial hierarchies. Wrigglesworth attended the University of Toronto’s Visual Studies program at the Daniels Faculty. Nara is a finalist for the 2024 InterAccess Media Arts Prize.
About the Media Arts Prize

Faculty from university programs within the GTA are invited to nominate a student to be considered for a solo exhibition in InterAccess's gallery. Nominations are adjudicated by InterAccess's Programming Committee, who select a prize winner to be awarded a solo exhibition opportunity, a complimentary one-year studio membership, and professional development and mentorship. All finalists receive a complimentary one-year studio membership to InterAccess and an opportunity for a public artist talk.
