Wed Oct 28, 2026 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM InterAccess, 32 Lisgar St, M6J 0C7

This hands-on training session will introduce members to the CNC router available in the InterAccess studio.

In this 3-hour session, participants will learn:

  • How to prepare files for CNC routing using Easel and gSender
  • How to operate the Longmill MK1 CNC properly and safely
  • Best practices for using the CNC router in the InterAccess studio

Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops.

Tool Training sessions are designed for InterAccess members to learn how to operate the studio equipment safely and independently. These sessions are available at no cost to Annual Studio Members. Monthly members and non-members, including those considering membership in the future and those looking to access equipment during Open Studio, can register to receive this training for a $25 fee.

After this training, members will be approved to use the CNC router.

About the Trainer

Sarah is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans across sculpture, video, sound, electronics, and code. She often plays with juxtapositions and contradictions in form and function, resolving discordant elements into a continuous body: retrofitted industrial objects with fabricated parts, a wall of connected electronics with sonic reflections but no purpose. Currently, she works at U of T’s Myhal Centre Fabrication Facility, providing fabrication guidance and equipment assistance to students. Previously, she worked at OCAD U’s Rapid Prototyping Centre where she gained 4 years of experience with a wide range of digital fabrication methods and machines.
