The Food Solutions New England (FSNE) 21-Day Racial Equity Habit-Building Challenge is stepping into its next chapter, and this moment calls for it!
For more than a decade, thousands of individuals and organizations have joined this shared practice of building the skill, will, and courage to confront racial and related inequities in our food system and our world. What began through Food Solutions New England in 2015 has grown into a powerful, collective ritual of learning, reflection, and action.
Now in its 12th year, the Challenge is hosted by Interaction Institute for Social Change (IISC) in partnership with the University of Vermont’s Institute for Agroecology (IFA) and longtime co-curator Karen Spiller of KAS Consulting.
If you’ve participated before, you know this goes beyond an email series. It’s a steady, grounding practice and a way to learn in community. And it’s a reminder that meaningful change grows from small, consistent actions taken together.
Over 21 days, you’ll receive emailed curated resources, reflection prompts, and invitations to deepen your understanding and practice at a pace that works for you. Join as an individual or as a team within your organization.
Registration opens March 5, 2026
The Challenge runs from Monday, April 20, to Sunday, May 10, 2026
$21 for 21 days
This is the first year we are charging a registration fee. Your contribution helps sustain and strengthen this experience for years to come. Also, it gives you free access to our Orientation on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 1 - 4 p.m. EST and four "Challenge Fridays," a live, virtual conversation space for participants who want to reflect out loud, wrestle with what’s surfacing, and connect the dots between learning and action. Challenge Fridays are held on April 17, April 24, May 1 & May 8 from 12 - 1 p.m. EST. Registered participants will receive Zoom links via email.
In a time when some feel cautious, and others feel newly energized, this Challenge makes room for all of it. Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here.
Join us. Learn with us. Build the bigger “we” our food system and our world need.
