Walk for Unity - Glasgow 850 Sponsored Interfaith Walk

Join us for a sponsored walk through Glasgow visiting eight places of worship and raising funds for Interfaith Glasgow’s work bringing people together and challenging prejudice.

Last year’s walk had to be postponed due to severe weather, but we’re delighted to be going ahead in March 2026. All previous fundraising has been carried over — and now we’re inviting new walkers to join us as we aim to raise £20,000 for vital interfaith work.

What’s involved?

• Visit eight different places of worship across Glasgow

• Hear blessings for the city from eight faith traditions

• Walk approximately five miles over the day (with breaks)

• Finish with a free vegetarian shared meal at the Sikh Gurdwara in Pollokshields (around 6:45 pm)

This event is inspired by Glasgow’s 850th anniversary and celebrates the city’s rich diversity and spirit of solidarity.

Fundraising – how it works

This is a sponsored walk. We ask each participant to aim to raise £150 or more, but don't worry if you don’t reach your target — set it high and raise as much as you can. Every pound makes a difference.

• Just email us a short blurb, a photo, and your target

• You’ll be part of a team effort aiming to raise over £20,000

All funds raised will support work tackling prejudice, welcoming refugees, and building friendship and understanding across faith and belief communities.

Who can take part?

We welcome anyone who shares the spirit of the day — curious, respectful, and open-hearted.

This is a family-friendly public event.

• Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult

• Young people aged 16+ may attend independently

• We cannot take responsibility for unaccompanied children
