Join the upcoming IACD Global Community Development Researchers’ Forum meeting with the research team from UISCE, Ireland’s National Advocacy Service for People who Use Drugs.
This session will explore the value and impact of peer-led community development approaches in research, advocacy, and service development with people who use drugs (PWUD). Drawing on UISCE’s rights-based and community-led practice, the discussion will highlight how meaningful collaboration can move beyond consultation towards genuine participation, co-production, and empowerment.
The session will also explore the importance of centring lived experience, protecting human rights, and ensuring the voices of PWUD are heard in decision-making processes that affect their lives.
