IGF is delighted to welcome fans of gypsy jazz to this afternoon workshop with celebrated jazz guitarists Stochelo Rosenberg, Paulus Schäfer and Chris Quinn.

This is an incredible opportunity for guitar players of all levels to learn firsthand with the world's leading gypsy jazz musicians. 

Gain a greater understanding of the intricacies of the style, get personal feedback and the chance to play with the legends and get some of that gypsy magic into your own playing.

Workshop format:

Led by Paulus Schäfer, Stochelo Rosenberg & Chris Quinn


Part 1 - duration 75 minutes

• Study the chords, rhythm techniques, melodies and improvisation concepts that define the modern sound of gypsy jazz.

60 min break / practice time

Part 2 - duration 75 minutes

• Practical jam based workshop where tutors will lead and coach participants whilst playing some classic gypsy jazz songs. Looking at arrangements, dynamics and group playing, you'll discover some of the approaches and concepts used by world class musicians that can give your playing a more advanced, refined sound.
  

What is the minimum skill level for players?

Whilst there is no restriction, it is recommended that players have at least 2 years playing experience.

Can I come and listen only?

Sorry, this is a practical workshop for players only.  

Where is the class?

The workshop takes place in rooms accessed from the concert level foyer (floor B -2) at Kings Place. You will receive further information by email closer to the event.

Tickets cannot be refunded. If you are not able to attend please inform us as soon as possible. We may be able to offer a voucher for another IGF event (at our discretion).
