University of Leeds Ramadan Iftar on 4 March 2026

This Ramadan, the University of Leeds supported by the LUU Islamic Society, are pleased to announce weekly on-campus hot iftars.
We are delighted to welcome guest speaker Hamza Khan for this Iftar.
The iftars are open to all University of Leeds students but registration is essential as places are limited.
Menu for Wednesday 4 March 2026:
- Starter – Vegetable spring rolls
- Meat Masala (mutton)
- (V) Cauliflower and potato (Aloo Gobi)
- Naan
Food catered by MyLahore, Halal catering.
Registration is required for every iftar. Students can book up to 2 adult tickets. Up to 3 child tickets can be booked for families. If you attend without a booking, we cannot guarantee you will be allowed to join the gathering.
If you register and then need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible so we can avoid food waste. You can cancel your place by emailing globalcommunity@leeds.ac.uk

Frequently asked questions
Q: How many tickets can I register for?
A: Students can book up to 2 adult tickets. Up to 3 child tickets can be booked for families.
Q: Are children welcome to attend?
A: Yes, children are welcome to attend but you must include them in your registration. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times whilst attending the iftar.
The dishes served at the iftar will be medium spiced so please feel free to bring your own food if you are worried it might be too spicy for children.
Q: The event is sold out, can I still join?
A: We have limited places available at each iftar so we are not able to accept anyone who isn't registered. Please join the waiting list and we will contact you if any places become available.
Q: What time should I arrive?
A: You are welcome to arrive between 17:00 - 17:15. The speech will start at 17:20.
Q: I'm a member of staff, can I attend?
A: Due to limited capacity at each iftar, we are only able to accommodate University of Leeds students at this years’ events. Visit the Muslim Staff Network for information about any staff events during Ramadan.
