MILAAP - ITF Seafarers’ Expo 2026
The ITF Seafarers’ Expo is a FREE event for seafarers. It is an informative and fun day where seafarers can learn practical things and enjoy games and food at the Expo.
The main purpose of the Expo is to help seafarers understand their rights and to explain how the ITF and its seafarers’ unions support seafarers all over the world. More than 5,000 seafarers are expected to attend the Expo during the three days.
There will be many activities that are enjoyable and also help seafarers understand and learn how to protect their rights. The event is especially made to educate and support working seafarers.
The Expo will also provide information about training and learning opportunities in the changing maritime industry. International experts will be present to give guidance and run workshops on how seafarers can stay healthy, safe, and happy onboard.
Seafarers can also learn about international and local welfare organisations that can help them and their families when they need support. A number of ship owners, ship managers, and crewing agents will also be present to share job and career opportunities.
The event is organised by the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), the global voice of the world’s seafarers since 1896 The ITF is hosting the Expo with the generous support of local affiliated unions NUSI, MUI and FSUI; and with the cooperation of DG Shipping. We will also welcome the presence of other ITF seafarer unions from around the world, JSU (Japan), NSU (Norway) and ver.di (Germany).
This is the first time that an ITF Seafarers’ Expo has been held in India. We trust that this year’s occasion will be as equally successful – an event not to be missed, and to be remembered fondly for years to come!
We look forward to seeing you at the ITF Seafarers’ Expo 2026
