CS26: Transforming Community Care

In an ideal world, we can rely on our community to catch us when we fall — friends who'll be around in tough times, neighbours with shared food and a network of healthworkers and professionals we can seek help from when things go wrong.

But in some areas, our society is becoming harsher, more individualistic and filled with monitoring and surveillance. People who are struggling end up in the justice system, in psych wards, in a cycle of mistrust and policing.

How do we get from here to mutual aid, community care and a genuine safety net?
