Description
The Joyous Cosmology
Directly stolen from a beautiful little book by Alan Watts , with no apology, on his direct experiences with psychedelics, and how they can strip away the artificial external world that binds our consciousness. Tonight however is not about psychedelics (another time for that), but the principle of dropping our conditioning to find true intimacy in whatever form it might take in this moment.
First and foremost this is a safe space, particularly for women, to express yourself.
Just for a few short hours, we are going to attempt to leave the artificial world that binds our consciousness. Drop the futility of capitalism, materialism, the me culture that separates us. Let us fall consciously into our true selves to discover real intimacy. We are going to explore the internal world to reconnect with our natural state, beyond labels and gurus, beyond your every day consciousness.
We will try to go beyond verbal and social games and the learned cultural mind, nothing can be done if the mind is considered separate from the body, the living organism. There is no pressure to do anything in this space, except to 'be', so drink tea, chat, cuddle, whatever it is you feel for this moment, in this place, with these people.
"The felt presence of immediate experience is all you know, everything else comes as unconfirmed rumour." Terence McKenna
We are going to explore free expression with deep respect of others and yourself, providing safe boundaries for all. We are going to try to be responsive to what 'we' want to do, not what we have been conditioned and socialised to do.
So to start, boundaries and consent work that sets the tone for our evening, with a slow free fall into spontaneous action and intimacy, facing our fears, living in the moment, and without labels.
There will be areas suggested with different themes, or make your own up which will be much more in keeping with the evening and the search for the authentic you. Learn to love and accept yourself, or if you are already there, share that gift with others in whatever way feels right for you. The evening will start and end with short gatherings to say hello and goodbye to your fellow explorers.
We are going to step over societal boundaries at your own pace.
‘Love doesn’t demand conformity. Love offers freedom’. J. Krishnamurti
The title Intimacy with Strangers, and some ideas, are taken from my another good friend Miki Fossati and his work Intimacy with Strangers: An Exploration of the Soul
