Night Vision Rifle Intro Course

Night Vision Carbine Intro Course -1 day (12 hours)
This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for safe and effective shooting in low-light conditions using night vision equipment. Participants will learn about the principles of night vision, equipment selection and maintenance, shooting techniques, and tactical considerations for nighttime engagements.
You Will Learn
- How to establish an effective combat zero on your carbine
- How to engage threats that aren’t in your initial field of view
- How to safely and accurately engage multiple threats while moving from points of cover out to 300 yards
- How to effectively manipulate and run your gun dynamically
- How to clear malfunctions
- How to manipulate, shoot, and move while under pressure and develop the mindset you need to win the fight!!
- Introduction to and understand of the principles of night vision technology and its application.
- Identify and select appropriate night vision equipment.
- Application and addressing Photonic barriers - Review of NVDs and LAMs: - Mounting of tubes, optical differences, gain and intensity adjustments, focal procedures - Mounting of LAMs, differences in models/options, zeroing, beam adjustments
- Develop safe and effective procedures for shooting in low-light conditions.
- Review of basic shooting fundamentals.
- Daylight shooting drills and scenarios. (Up drills, reloads, target transitions, and forced malfunctions).
- Safety considerations for shooting in low-light conditions.
- Review and demonstrate malfunction procedures under daylight for NVG usage.
- Zeroing night vision optics.
- Perception of Zero and Offsets while under NV.
- Adaptations for shooting with night vision devices. (apply night vision devices and repeat malfunction clearances)
- Engaging targets at various distances and angles.
- Situational awareness in low-light environments.
- Review and demonstrate shooting on the move fundamentals.
- Use of cover and concealment at night.
- Shooting on the move with night vision equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in shooting techniques with and without using night vision devices.
- Apply tactical considerations for nighttime engagements.
- Develop safe and effective procedures for shooting in low-light conditions.

Gear Needed for Course
- Carbine that is in good working order and equipped with either an RDS or LPVO optic. (This course will focus on the M4/AR-15 platform; however, you can bring any carbine platform you wish)
- Sling That Attaches to Your Carbine
- 4 Standard Capacity Magazines
- A Method of Carrying Magazines on Your Person Securely.
- 500 Rounds of Whatever Your Carbine is Chambered In.
- Rifle Laser VIS visible or IR Illuminator, such as the Holosun LS117IR
- NVG, such as the PVS 14.
- Helmet with mount for the PVS 14.
- Inner ear, ear protection or ear pro designed to fit with bump helmet.
- NOTE: We have NVG rentals available for $194.00 per student
- Safe operation of rifle system.
- Square away rifle system sling and belt-line gear
- Basic understanding of rifle fundamentals, such as bringing your systems into firing position from slung resting position, high and low ready work, and slide lock reloading etc.
- To be clear, your skills must be safe and fundaments decent, and we’ll get you the rest of the way there. IF YOUR NOT SQUARED AWAY with the above skills, you will be asked to leave with ZERO refund.
