GSA Con 2026

GSA Con is Iowa’s statewide conference for the student leaders behind GSAs and other student inclusion clubs. Friends, this is truly one of our favorite opportunities to bring GSA students from across our network together in one place.

Join us on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Drake University’s Olmstead Center for a full day of building stronger clubs.

Throughout the day, students will take part in interactive workshops designed around the real-world, practical skills that students need to succeed: building a strong club culture, planning and fundraising for events, leading meetings, navigating challenges, and keeping members engaged.

GSA-in-a-Day is a hands-on experience that gives students a chance to practice what it’s like to lead a GSA from start to finish.

Students will be placed into temporary for-the-day “GSAs” made up mostly of students from other schools from across our network. Over the course of the experience, each group will move through a simulated year in the life of a GSA: getting to know one another, setting group culture, trying out different types of meetings and activities, working through common club challenges, and making plans together.

As we’ve added this programming piece to GSA Con, we’ve had phenomenal feedback. Students have told us they love the opportunity to meet new people, hear perspectives from outside your own club, and get to try out ideas in a space where everyone is there to learn.

GSA Con is designed primarily for middle and high school students, but all students are welcome. We’ll also offer dedicated sessions for GSA advisors and supportive educators focused on supporting strong, sustainable, student-led clubs.
