Riza Yosia Sunindijo
Professor Riza Yosia Sunindijo is the Deputy Head of School (Research) at the School of Built Environment, UNSW Sydney. His research focuses on work health and safety and the empowerment of women in the construction industry. Riza is internationally recognised as one of the World’s Top 2% Scientists according to Stanford University. Prior to his academic career, Riza worked as a Sustainability Champion and Project Manager, contributing to major construction projects including five-star resorts and an international airport. He is particularly passionate about health and safety, mental health, leadership, and women’s empowerment, and has focused his research in these areas for several years. He also has research interests in disaster management and construction management, particularly in the context of Indonesia and other developing countries.
Professor Sunindijo joined UNSW in 2009 as a sessional academic and became a full-time staff member in 2013. Since then, he has held several key leadership roles, including Undergraduate Coordinator (2014–2017) and Director of Postgraduate Research (2018–2020), demonstrating sustained academic leadership and contribution to research development within the School.
