AFP Indian River is excited to bring you Leading Practices of High Performing Boards presented by Senior BoardSource Consultant, Vernetta Walker, JD. We are honored to welcome the Indian River Community Foundation as sponsor of this board-building workshop!
High-performing boards have several traits in common. For starters, they understand that exceptional governance requires providing intellectual capital, active engagement, and robust discourse. They share a passion for the mission, and they are energized by a deep commitment to the work. Additionally, what really sets them apart is the thoughtfulness and intentionality with which they approach everything, including ensuring an equity mindset and centering the voices of individuals who will be impacted by the organization's work.
