15 years of the Irish Memory Orchestra. One extraordinary night of music.
On 9 January 2027, the Irish Memory Orchestra, the first and only orchestra in the Western world to always perform from memory, celebrates its 15th anniversary with a concert bringing together an exceptional line-up of musicians from across Ireland's traditional and classical music worlds.
IMO founder and composer Dave Flynn is joined by Niamh Varian-Barry (violin, viola & voice), Tara Connaghan (fiddle), Jack Talty (concertina), Mark Redmond (uilleann pipes), Maria O'Connor (cello), Aisling Agnew (flute), Aidan Dunphy (percussion), Etain McCooey (oboe) and Áine McGrath (fiddle). Dynamic South African conductor Bjorn Bantock returns to lead the IMO for the first time since 2019.
Expect music where the melodic energy of Irish traditional music meets the hypnotic minimalism of Glass and Reich, bringing together much-loved IMO repertoire, new music and unexpected twists.
Whether you're celebrating 15 years of the IMO or simply looking for a great night of live music, this is a concert not to be missed.
