Speaker Bio: Trish Reid is Professor of Theatre and Performance and Head of the School of Arts and Communication Design at the University of Reading. She is the author of Theatre & Scotland (2013), The Theatre of Anthony Neilson (2017) and Theatre and Performance in Contemporary Scotland (2024). She has published widely on contemporary British theatre and its engagement with politics in the broadest sense. She has recently been elected to the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Theatre Research and is a member of the Advisory Board of Theatre Research International.With Liz Tomlin, Trish is general editor of the Cambridge series, Elements in Theatre, Performance and the Political and with Claire Cochrane, Catherine Hindson and Lynette Goddard, of the Routledge Companion to Twentieth-Century Theatre (2024 + 25). Both projects seek purposefully to expand and diversify the historical record, through engagement with diverse performance histories and intellectual traditions. Trish is from Glasgow.
