Session 1. Sunday 4th October, 11:00-12:15:

Childhood trauma:

  • Types of trauma and symptoms: PTSD, Complex PTSD and what happen to the brain
  • Trauma responses & unhelping thinking styles
  • Unhealthy vs healthy coping skills
  • The Duhaa aproach and Prophets' traumatic experiences
  • Post Traumatic Growth
  • Islamic self-care and sunnah ways of well-being

Session 2. Sunday 11th October, 11:00-12:15:

Religious OCD:

  • Difference between OCD & ROCD
  • Signs and symptoms, common obsessions and compulsions
  • Types of Waswasaa and reconliling this with ROCD
  • Personal account of ROCD
  • Stigma, managing ROCD using CBT and guidance from Islam
  • 'Husn Al Dhann'
  • Piety vs ROCD

Saturday 25th October, 19:00-20:15:

Neurodiversity:

  • Different types of neurodiverse development
  • Autism
  • Learning differences

These are key issues facing many of us today. The importance of covering these contemporary issues is immeasurable, as so many of our youth are struggling with them. Courses like this help to empower young people to handle these issues in a healthy manner, grounded in faith.
