The Isle of Wight Conservative Association Summer Dinner is a very special one this year with special guest Lord Soames of Fletching, grandson of Winston Churchill. We have a three course sumptuous dinner featuring some local island produce, with tea and coffee to finish and an after dinner speech from Lord Soames.
Originally serving in the British Army, Nicholas Soames subsequently enjoyed a long and distinguished career in Parliament spanning 36 years between 1983 to 2019. He held a number of senior Government roles including serving as a Minister for Defence and as a Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
Held at the Lakeside Park Hotel in Wootton Bridge, the there-course menu starts with a choice of:
- Isle of Wight asparagus, aged parmesan, lemon oil
- Caesar salad, chicken thigh croquette, smoked bacon sourdough croûtes
- Leek, pea and watercress soup
Main course choices:
- Slow cooked lamb shoulder, smoked potato, Provencal vegetables, marjoram jus
- Salt cod, prawn & dill raviolo, beurre blanc, sea vegetables
- Pea & wild garlic risotto, crème fraiche, poached egg
Dessert:
- White chocolate mousse, raspberries, shortbread
- Apple tart tatin, vanilla ice cream, calvados syrup
Tea and coffee to conclude the meal. A cash bar is available for pre-dinner and dinner drinks.
Tickets are £50 each, or if you'd like to join Lord Soames at the Top Table, tickets are £100. When booking your tickets, please select the menu choice first, and if you want to add the top table option, please add that from the bottom of the pull down menu.
For Young Conservatives, there is a special ticket price of £40 - select the last option on the pull down menu when selecting your tickets.
