A candlelit one-man performance by Toby Burchell.

Toby Burchell performs two chilling tales by the finest writers of the ghost story genre. Originally narrated as entertainments for friends, these are the perfect traditional ghost stories.

ACT 1

In Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story, The Signalman, we follow a railway signalman who keeps watch over a damp, and gloomy railway cutting. Upon questioning, he reveals that he has been haunted by spectral warnings of impending train disasters.

ACT 2

In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Lot No. 249, we follow Abercrombie Smith, a student who investigates a series of supernatural occurrences linked to his neighbour, Edward Bellingham. Edward, an Oxford student, holds possession of an ancient Egyptian mummy, which he appears to have been using to stalk his enemies.

Guests will be offered wine or soft drinks with nibbles during the intermission.

Tickets £36.00 per person (over 15 years only). Capacity is very limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
