The Islington Communities Safe Circle

The IRMF, in partnership with Migrant Voice, is holding a discussion event, - the Islington Communities – Safe Circle on 1st October, 12–4pm at Voluntary Action Islington (200A Pentonville Road, King's Cross, London, N1 9JP).

We’ll be talking about the rise in hate crime, far-right activity and increasingly hostile rhetoric towards migrants and refugees, and what member groups are seeing in their communities. It is a scary time for those who are marginalised and we’d like to hear how this is affecting the people you support, whether you’ve noticed any changes, what you think needs to be done, and how we can work together on practical responses. The session will be informal and discussion-based, with lunch provided.

We encourage you to bring 3-5 individuals; these can be staff, board members or beneficiaries of your organisation. This is a space for people to share their experiences and worries, so the more individual input, the better.

We acknowledge this may also be a triggering and anxiety-inducing event for some, and anyone may step out at any time if they need.
