Event Overview
The changes to USP classifications are here. The long-standing “USP Class VI checkbox” is, for all intents and purposes, going away—but why? Why now? What takes its place? And perhaps just as importantly: who is ASME BPE to tell us what good looks like?
The biopharmaceutical industry continues to evolve rapidly, and the standards supporting the design, construction, and operation of its manufacturing systems must evolve with it. The 2026 edition of ASME BPE reflects that evolution, with important updates spanning materials, system design, components, fabrication, surface finish, instrumentation, single-use technologies, certification, biocompatibility, and more. The deck specifically identifies biocompatibility changes intended to align BPE with evolving USP requirements.

This session goes beyond a simple review of “what changed.” We’ll look at what ASME BPE actually is, why the industry relies on it, how hundreds of industry subject-matter experts turn emerging challenges and lessons learned into consensus requirements, and what is already being developed for 2028 and beyond. Andrew Lamore, BFC Technologies
Andrew Lamore is a biopharmaceutical industry leader with more than two decades of experience in hygienic processing, instrumentation, automation, and technical sales. He currently serves as Director of Sales and Marketing at BFC Technologies and is Vice-Chair of the ASME Bioprocessing Equipment (BPE) Committee. Known for combining deep technical expertise with strategic business leadership, Andrew is a passionate advocate for innovation, industry standards, and advancing best practices across the life sciences sector.

Cory Perelman, BPIV Consulting
Cory Perelman, PE is Owner and Principal Consultant of BPIV Consulting and a recognized expert in bioprocess instrumentation, valves, and automation for the life sciences industry. He serves as Chair of the ASME BPE Process Instrumentation Subcommittee and has led instrumentation and controls design for biotechnology, cell and gene therapy, single-use manufacturing, and continuous manufacturing facilities. Cory holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.

Registration will open at 5:00 pm; the presentation will begin at 6:00 pm and the program will conclude by 8:00 pm.

Cancellation Policy: Full refund or credit voucher for a future program will be given up until 7-days before program; After September 15th, no refunds or credit vouchers will be provided. Registration website will close at 5:00 pm on Monday, September 21st.
