Abstract:  At today's crossroads of security and innovation sits emerging technology that will have tremendous impacts on both our professional and personal lives. Consequently, the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will need to evolve beyond the traditional and current definition, and has multiple potential to take diverse paths for growth. In this session, Dan Manley will explain how the CISO role has grown to it's current state, where it is going, and what are the strategy & plan implications of current and aspiring CISOs.

Title: Beyond Compliance: How Cyber Threat Intelligence Fortifies Third-Party Risk Management

Abstract: Given the rising tide of supply chain attacks, organizations need to evolve their Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) programs beyond minimalist, point-in-time assessment approaches. By leveraging Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) data, organizations can gain a more continuous and comprehensive view of risks within their third-party ecosystem. In this presentation, key benefits will be discussed, such as validating assessments, prioritizing vulnerabilities, improving threat detection and alerting, and enabling more targeted responses to major supply chain security events. Beyond technology though, we will also discuss the importance of collaboration between TPRM, SOC, and other security teams within the organization.

Bio: With over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, I have developed a deep expertise in risk, compliance, technology, and program development. I hold several industry certifications, including CISSP, CTPRP, QSA (previous), and ISO Auditor (previous). My goal is to promote the continued maturity of our industry into a discipline that holistically considers cybersecurity, data protection, technology, and business risk as a unified concept. I enjoy working with clients to understand their challenges, provide solutions, and deliver value.
