Jacs Venue Aberdare is delighted to welcome Martin McAloon of Prefab Sprout for a very special evening celebrating the music of one of Britain’s most distinctive and much-loved bands.

A founding member of Prefab Sprout, Martin McAloon was at the heart of the band whose beautifully crafted songs, sophisticated melodies and unmistakable sound have attracted a devoted following for more than four decades.

For this special Steve McQueen – Slight Return show, Martin brings the landmark Prefab Sprout album Steve McQueen to the stage, performing the album in full, followed by a selection of favourites from across the wider Prefab Sprout catalogue.

Released in the mid-1980s, Steve McQueen became one of Prefab Sprout’s defining records and includes songs that remain firm favourites with fans today. This show offers the chance to hear those songs presented in an intimate live setting, together with more highlights from the remarkable catalogue of songs written by Martin’s brother and Prefab Sprout frontman Paddy McAloon.

Expect an evening built around exceptional songwriting, memorable melodies and songs that have stood the test of time.
