HE JAMES OLIVER BAND — LIVE AT JACS ABERDARE

Get ready for a serious night of live guitar music as The James Oliver Band comes to Jacs Aberdare.

South Wales guitarist and vocalist James Oliver has built his reputation the old-fashioned way — by getting out and playing. His official biography records more than 300 gigs a year, over 3,000 live performances, and touring across the UK, Europe and the USA. James Oliver Band

James won Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2020 UK Blues Awards and has since received three further nominations. Over the years he has shared stages with artists including Albert Lee, Bill Kirchen, Walter Trout, Greg Koch and Geraint Watkins. James Oliver Band

Musically, this is much broader than a straight blues show. James has described his sound as a mix of rock ’n’ roll, rockabilly, blues and country — straight-up roots guitar music, driven by his distinctive Telecaster-style playing. Guitar.com

His debut album Twang spent three weeks at No.1 on Amazon's Blues chart, while his follow-up album Frantic was produced by renowned producer John Leckie and released through The Last Music Company in 2024. Last Music

This is exactly the sort of act Jacs is built for — a proper touring band, great musicianship, loads of energy and a guitarist who knows how to put on a live show.
