A Show for Matt Welsh – Live Music Fundraiser

Sun 1 Nov 2026 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM GMT Jacs Venue Aberdare, CF44 7LL

A special afternoon of live music at Jacs Aberdare, coming together in memory of Matt Welsh and helping to raise funds towards his funeral costs.

Join us on Sunday 1 November from 2pm until 7pm for an afternoon featuring a brilliant cross-section of local bands, singers, musicians and comedy performers.

Featuring:

The Spectrums – Aberdare’s energetic five-piece 1980s synthpop and New Wave covers band, performing favourites associated with artists including OMD, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Eurythmics, Gary Numan, A-ha and Soft Cell.

Cripplecreek – a long-running local collective whose roots stretch back to 1995. Their sound blends blues-infused rock, Americana influences, melodic songwriting and plenty of live-band character.

Ceri Haggett – an Aberdare singer-songwriter with a knack for humorous, observational songwriting as well as live performance; his music has previously attracted wider attention for its distinctly Welsh humour and everyday subject matter.

dunkie – a South Wales alternative music project built around singer-songwriter Anthony Price, producer/songwriter Wayne Bassett and artist Michael Gustavius Payne. Their music moves between alt-indie, electronica, psychedelia, folk-rock, indie pop and shoegaze.

Jeff Japers – award-winning musical comedy from South Wales, combining original comedy songs with visual gags, slides and his famously offbeat stage props. Jeff won both the main prize and audience favourite award at the 2022 Musical Comedy Awards.

The Sunday Club – Aberdare’s community ukulele group, familiar from local town events and community performances, including appearances connected with Caradogfest and Aberdare events.

Lezley-Ann Shaw – an experienced and versatile South Wales vocalist and recording artist with decades of professional live-performance experience. Her work also includes presenting, podcast production and voiceover work.
