Nature Walk and Bird Count -- September 2026

Been considering going on a LushNature trip? Pick September because this LushNature trip goes way out into the wilderness (Sunol Wilderness Regional Park that is!) and gives you the option to camp as well.

Tarantula's/Golden Eagles/Mammals and Herps

The tarantula march is on and the Golden Eagles and Prairie Falcons will be at peak at Sunol Wilderness in the East Bay. Some of us will camp Friday night, and then break camp and join the rest on the Nature Walkers on Saturday morning. After we conduct the bird count, those inclined can stay in the park all day and explore this beautiful wilderness encompassing incredible wildlife and everything from the chance of hearing bugling Tule Elk in the rut up in the mountain valleys, to possibly running into a transient black bear. And hopefully, we will finally get a good snake.

Caution! Do not run over the tarantulas.

I have booked a campsite for 8 people: 9/25/26 Friday Night. 6 Slots still remain (or you could book your own campsite).

Trip Options:

Saturday Nature Walk

Get a ticket and meet us on Saturday Morning 9/26/26 at 7:45am for the 8-11am wildlife walk (with additional option to picnic lunch and search and enjoy the park for more wildlife until sunset).

Friday Camping Option

First; go camping Friday night and use blacklight for scorpions. Then, do Saturday Nature Walk above.
