This special day commences with the Empowerment, a blissful guided meditation that connects our hearts and minds with Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion, opening us to powerful inspiration, positive energy and blessings. 

An empowerment, or initiation, offers those receiving it a deeply immersive experience and a taste of their own potential to abide permanently in a state of inner peace and happiness.

In the afternoon, Gen Suma will give commentary on the Tantric meditation practice of Buddha Avalokiteshvara, based on insights offered by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in his book 'The Mirror of Dharma with Additions.' 

We can understand these insights to be oral instructions coming to us from Geshe-la himself. Taken together, they comprise a direct tantric meditation method whereby our hearts and minds can be swiftly transformed into the nature of love and compassion for every living being.
