Yoga Nidra with Tara
Yoga Nidra is a guided practice of deep relaxation often described as “yogic sleep.” It is usually practised lying comfortably on your back, while Tara guides you through a series of stages designed to relax the body and calm the mind.
During Yoga Nidra you will:
- Settle into a comfortable, supported position.
- Bring your awareness to your breathing and different parts of the body.
- Gradually release physical tension.
- Notice thoughts, feelings, and sensations without needing to act on them.
- Move into a deeply relaxed state between wakefulness and sleep.
- Sometimes set a personal intention, known as a sankalpa, at the beginning and end of the practice.
Although the body becomes very relaxed and you may even drift towards sleep, the aim is traditionally to maintain a gentle awareness while resting deeply.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation for profound rest and relaxation. It requires no physical yoga poses and can be particularly appealing if you want to slow down, release tension, or create a peaceful transition into sleep.
