About this concert
"And the winner is... Li Yuqing, a young violinist from Manhattan School of Music". Li will perform the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with Jefferson Symphony. The concert will open with Our Favorite Overture — an overture chosen by members of the orchestra.
The second movement of Brahms's Symphony No. 2 opens with one of the most beautiful melodies Brahms ever composed, played by the cellos. Brahms composed his Second during the summer of 1877 at the village of Pörtschach on the Worthersee, a picturesque Austrian lakeside retreat.
