Finding Your Inner Refuge: A Day of Meditation, Healing, and Awakening - with Jeff Foster

Sat 13 Sep 2025 10:30 AM - 5:00 PM St. Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, EC2N 4AG

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED

“Meditation is not about getting anywhere.
It’s about discovering there is nowhere to get to.
You’re already home - your body is the ground of all grounds.

It's about discovering true safety in your feet, your hands, the pit of your belly—
a sanctuary in your chest, a sacred shrine between your eyes,
a loving friend in the breath, a mother in the motherless places…”

— Jeff Foster

Are you exhausted from trying to hold it all together?

Are you tired of striving, fixing, and constantly feeling pressured to heal, awaken, or just “feel better”?
Does the pressure to "work on yourself" or even "improve yourself" feel like just another... burden?

What if true healing doesn't come from more effort, but from deep rest?
What if the safest place you can land is right here—within your own breath, your body, and your beautiful imperfections?

Join author/teacher Jeff Foster, in a beautiful old church building in London, for an intensive day of spiritual nourishment, grounded insight, and heartfelt connection ❤️.

In this trauma-informed, soul-soothing gathering of honest talks and gentle guided meditations, Jeff will softly guide you toward a deeper understanding of what it truly means to rest, to be present, and to fall in love with life—even in its rawest, most tender moments.

This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s not about finding answers or following new dogmas. It’s about discovering the sacred in the ordinary, the light within the darkness, and the quiet joy woven through your imperfections.

This isn’t a typical "workshop". Consider it a day-long invitation—to pause, to soften, and to gently return home to yourself.

It's a spacious, friendly, unhurried gathering of meditations, silent moments, heartfelt sharing, and open dialogue and Q&A on the things that matter most.

It's a sanctuary for your nervous system. A place to simply... be.

This class is for everyone, including those new to Jeff’s teachings, or new to meditation itself.

THROUGHOUT THE DAY, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE...

• Gentle yet powerful guided meditations to calm your nervous system and support embodied presence.
• Spontaneous, heartfelt talks on awakening, healing trauma, befriending your wounds, and embracing the beautiful mess of life.
• Raw, honest dialogue and Q&A that speaks directly to the heart.
• Personal stories and insights from Jeff’s own healing and awakening journey.
• Moments of silence, stillness, and deep listening that reconnect you to your own inner wisdom.
• Permission to laugh, cry, fall apart, soften, let go—and simply be what you are.

AN INVITATION TO REST DEEPLY ...

The ground beneath our feet can feel shaky and uncertain these days. Our nervous systems are frazzled, overwhelmed by the pressures to be “better,” by unprocessed grief, and the collective anxiety of modern life.

We've been taught to run from pain, to fix ourselves, to transcend our humanity. But what if the healing we long for isn't found in striving or escaping—but in a radical return to presence?

In a world that feels chaotic and fast-moving, this event with Jeff is your invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember who you truly are.

Jeff speaks from direct experience—having journeyed through suicidal depression, chronic illness, deep self-loathing, and spiritual burnout. He has emerged not with all the answers, but with profound compassion, a love for humanity, and unwavering trust in the wisdom of the moment.

With humour, honesty, and poetic clarity, Jeff invites you to drop the masks, shed the pressure, and return to the simplicity of simply being.

🌸 THIS DAY MAY BE FOR YOU IF...

• You long to rest—not as an escape from life, but as a sacred return, to YOU.
• You’ve grown weary of fixing, improving, and striving – for spiritual awakening, for healing, for love…
• You feel overwhelmed or stuck and just need space to breathe, ground, and rest.
• You’re navigating grief, heartbreak, anxiety, or shame.
• You want to reconnect with your body, your heart, and your divine wholeness.

AN IMMERSIVE DAY OF "DEEP PERMISSION”…

Jeff teaches that “even our darkest emotions hold intelligence”. Even in our most broken places, sacred wholeness endures. He gently reminds us that flaws, doubts, and messiness aren't obstacles—they are the path.

This is a day of "deep permission"—to not know, to rest, and to trust the moment as it is.

Whether you’re grieving, burned out, spiritually exhausted, or simply yearning to feel more alive and at home in your own skin—you are warmly welcome here.

SCHEDULE

Throughout the day, you will be invited to rest, surrender, and fully immerse yourself in Presence with Jeff. In his own unique, heartfelt, and authentic way, Jeff will gently guide you out of the mind and into the present moment—into deeper connection with your feelings and the vulnerability of being human. Through words and silences, guided meditations, personal stories, and meditative dialogues, he will create a space for reflection and intuitive discovery.

WHAT PAST PARTICIPANTS HAVE SAID…

“Jeff has no lineage. So, he has no spiritual guru baggage to carry around. His meetings are just raw, naked, unconditional love. This is a new teacher for a new time with a timeless message. I am done with gurus and teachers. My teacher is the ugly bird bathing in the filthy water in my birdbath on my deck that I need to change the water in. My teacher is the crevice in the rock where water is naturally drawn into. My teacher is the check-out clerk at Walmart…” – R.P

“Thank you so much Jeff, you funny, shy, humble, powerful man, always present, always listening with your endlessly open heart, suddenly bursting into laughter because of your own hilariously funny little jokes, taking us all with you into this lively laughter, making us feel so alive and so ONE with you and each other…” – M.R.

“After a lifetime of spiritual quest, after all the insights, experiences, revelations, I finally found the missing ingredient that gives the courage to stay here, now, without the reference to my personal drama. The infinite tenderness that addresses the human being. Infinite, beautiful, human mystery. Only this infinite tenderness that Jeff incarnates has the power to bring me back here, now, again and again and again, in the fullness of what is and not in the longing for what is not. Yes, it does take courage. But with the infinite tenderness of love, yes, it is possible. Thank you Jeff for this infinite tenderness. For this infinite humanness that we encounter so rarely on the non dual path. Thank you thank you thank you.” – H.F.

“Our world does not need any more gurus, teachers and saviours, but honest human beings who live here among us, who strive to switch on a light-bulb in the darkness of the emotional underworld. Thanks, Jeff, for being a role model” – E.S.

“Jeff is a wonderful soul, filled with tenderness and love, humour; humility and a silent heart. I felt embraced every time he was looking at me while asking my questions. I needed so deeply to be seen, heard and loved from inside. This retreat softened profoundly these wounds of “unseen, unloved, unrecognised from childhood”. I experienced the love of life for me a whole day which gave me the sensation to belong to a family on earth, which softened also the inner feeling of loneliness, solitude…” – R.P.

“Jeff wasn’t someone I was going to get enlightened from. He wasn’t someone who was going to free me from my mind. He was someone extremely rare, like a jewel. He was someone who I could finally expose myself to, and not be abandoned, and not be rejected. He was someone whom would go with me to my depths. He was someone who embodies the true essence of what love and acceptance is. He was someone I could finally ‘meet’. An invitation to fall apart. Vulnerability.” – G.C.

"Jeff has been the biggest life-changer and presence-bringer I needed in my life. I am forever grateful to him for helping me to stay Present and accept my full humanity, in all of its doubts, fears, sorrows, its sensations, feelings and its joy. Truly, thank you!" - R.L.

“I was touched by Jeff’s unconditional welcoming, by his simplicity and honesty. I appreciated his ability not to provide answers, not to orient people towards his personal inclinations, but rather gently being totally present for everyone. I felt accepted as never before..." - D.T.

"Jeff, thank you for all the tears, love and laughter. The water gates really opened. So much pain, sadness and joy, that I wasn’t aware of in my body, could find its way to the surface... Eye-opening on so many levels. No more hiding!" - T.G.

"Leave everything undefined, including yourself.
Befriend uncertainty. Fall in love with mystery.
Kneel at the altar of not knowing.
Give your questions time to breathe...
and the answers will find you."

ABOUT JEFF FOSTER

event_description_image_248789_1747500192_d9627.jpg?_a=BAAAV6DQ

Jeff Foster studied Astrophysics at Cambridge University. In his mid-twenties, after a long period of depression and illness, he became addicted to the idea of ‘spiritual enlightenment’ and embarked on an intensive spiritual quest for the ultimate truth of existence. The spiritual search came crashing down with the clear recognition of the non-dual nature of everything, and the discovery of the extraordinary in the ordinary. In the clarity of this seeing, life became what it always was: intimate, open, loving and spontaneous, and Jeff was left with a deep understanding of the root illusion behind all human suffering, and a love of the present moment.

Jeff was voted #59 on Watkins Review’s list of the world’s 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People.
He has published several books in over a dozen languages.

His latest book “You Were Never Broken” was published in July 2020 by Sounds True.
